Price check please guys...97 T/A
Hey guys. I stopped to look at an LT1 today that got my attention at a used car lot on my way in to town. Here's the scoop: 1997 T/A Formula, 74,000 miles, headers, straight pipes, injectors, and a tune. Car has been lowered in the front 2 inches, and 1 inch in the back. It looks AWESOME! Automatic tranny, white, leather interior that looked brand new. The exterior and interior both looked amazing for the year. Very few imperfections at all. It's price was $8,900. Is this a good buy? I was thinking this was a great deal. It sure sounds awesome. Just checking to see if I stumbled upon a good deal or not. I'm selling my car, and this would be an awesome replacement. Seems like this is fairly low to others I've seen for sale. Help a mustang guy out! lol Thanks!

You guys are saying I can find a modded (or even stock for that matter) LS1 T/A for that price??? I wish you would point me in that direction then, because I can not find any for that price. Maybe I'm just missing something...??? Most LS1's I've found are going for over 10k, and those that are around 10-11k have over 100k miles on them. Have you seen any LS1's going for 8900 or close to that? If so, please let me know where so I can check them out (seriously, not being sarcastic, I would love to get an LS1 but from searching so far they have been out of my price range). Thanks.

A stock LS1 can typically beat a bolt-on LT1, so don't worry about finding a modded one
I think the price is too high considering it is an LT1 with 74K miles on it. I'd look for an LS1 in the $10K and less range, they will probably even have less miles on them.
Don't be afraid to travel to find the right car. A 1-way plane ticket is pretty cheap, you could fly a couple thousand miles away and drive a new car back home.

I think that is a really good deal, especially in this area, considering an 00 and up Fbod goes for no less than 15k usually. I say go for it, the car sounds like something I would jump on.

I found my 99 Chameleon T/A here locally in Houston. It had 72,XXX highway miles on it. It had MAF, Lid, and Cat-back, and rims. Fully loaded leather, t-tops, Monsoon, ect. Virtually flawless except two minor door ding on one quarter panel that I really had to look for in order to see. Paid $8,000 with title in hand. Not to mention that was in August of 2005 when I bought it. Just keep looking and one will pop up. As soon as you buy that 97 a LS1 car will jump right out in front of you. By the way what area are you in. If somewhere close to me I will see what I can do.

That price is too high I would say.. I paid 5,900 for my lt1 formula and it only had 35k on it last Jan. Plus It had about two grand worth of upgrades... well i pretty much stole my car but I know there are good deals out there if you look hard and look all the time. Try to get less miles on it.

Price is a little high, but also gotta weigh in how well the car is running vrs. Why save $1000 bucks when you can get a car that doesnt need that $1000+ a month later to fix it after ya get it. Got my 01 TA for just over $10k, had to fix a couple things but i'm happy.
