5.3 or LS1 heads?
hey guys ive got a lunati .595/.595 237/242 112, ive got a set of 5.3 heads and was wondering if it would help out as far as making more power, ive heard if u put the ls1 valves in the 5.3 head they flow just as good just bump the compression a lil, and also i wouldnt think i would need to flycut any? or would i? just wantin some opinions on if the swap would even be worth the trouble or if it would benefit any! thinking about getting some port work done to the heads soon, nothing major but would i be better off goin with my ls1 heads or the 5.3's?
thanks, mike

The 5.3 heads have .030" less P to V with a stock 2.00" valve then what the stock 5.7 head does, so your cam may not fit. The combustion chamber HAS to be ported to get the 5.3 heads to flow as well as a stock 5.7 So your best bet it to either mill your 5.7 heads, do the 5.3 heads right with a CNC program and flycut your pistons, or just buy the new TFS head and make the most power and not have to worry about flycutting.

High dollar heads are great if you have a high dollar budget.
What are you looking to spend? You can go any way you want as long as you throw enough money at it. Personally, id look into some ported LS6 heads. Theyll probably be your best bet for compression and flow vs. total cash. There are some great deals out there.
