Detailing business name suggestions?? I know this isnt really appearence related but i used to work at a body shop doing detailing work on custom paint jobs ect. since I quit there a couple years ago to go to college/work I've been detailing cars on the side as I enjoy it. The other day it was suggested that I should get some business cards made up so that clients can give them to thier friends ect. because apperently the customer has been asked a few times who details his car. So my question is does anyone have a good name idea?

hahahahah sorry i cant be of any help but that was funny as hell. and i kno the boat your in since im doing the same thing but i only did like, my bosses and coworkers car but all the people in my complex see my car all the time and approach me all the time. another problem is how much to charge but u probably kno prices since u used to work for a shop as you said

There's a guy here in WC that goes to people's houses to detail their cars in their driveway. He brings his own equipment and all. Seems pretty busy/successful so far. Maybe you could use that as an idea as well. I'll try to find out the name and maybe that would help as well.

You could go with something simple like "Rich Detailing" or "A Rich Detail". It has your name and gives the impression of a high end/well done job. Then again it may imply you have to be rich to get it done...ha. From all of my business classes in college I've learned how important names can be and how much money a lot of businesses spend to name their business or product. Good luck with the name and business! I think you could do pretty well with it.

Dick's Detailing .. Let Me Polish Your Rod !
before you go to the trouble of printing up cards, etc .. make sure you do a thorough check on the surrounding area, to make sure no one else is using the name you choose ..
My suggestion.. unless you are going to have a store front, or a trailer, etc .. just go some good quality, cheap cards printed, with your name, and Auto Detailing, by appointement.
or something straight forward like that, with a cell number, and a generic location .. like Jersey City or whatever fits ..
if it starts taking off, then you can worry about a name .. just my two cents.

I've owned a mobile detailing business here for the past few years and its been very successful. Word of mouth is the biggest advertisment. We do mainly dealerships/carlots and individuals when we have time. Our biggest problem is finding good help that knows what they are doing. Its just my wife and I right now and we average 15-20 details a week(all we can do) and lot wash(rinse off) 40-50. We start at $125 for cars and $150 for trucks/SUVs(more if buffing is required) It maybe different up there but thats the going rate down here(South Carolina)
BTW I would go with "Big Dicks Detailing" thats something they will definately remeber!

it looks like you are going for something obnoxious and in your face with the big dick's detailing right? instead i'd go with KING Detailing or something and keep the theme, . .or if you wanna go with something more "finesse" go with Diamond Detailing, . . eh, i tried in the 30 seconds after reading this thread, . . . if you keep the Big Dick's Detailing have a slogan like, "We'll Get You In & Out"

thanks for the suggestions guys.... the big dicks detailing i thought was great but considering the stuck up snobs around here it wont work... most of my business so far has been bmw's mercedes escalades ect) most of my business comes from locals who see my car around and ask who does the work on it or through my parents work/friends ect.... the 2 choices are gonna boil down to jersey devil detailing and Jr's custom detailing

ZaneO knows well about detailing. I think his choices sound the most professional. When you hear those names, you think that the person would know what they are doing.
