Default Anyone know where a Hypertech can be cleared?

The car that it was in was totalled in an accident and there was no way to clear it. I know that there are people.companies who can clear them, but I don't know who they are or how to reach them. Can anyone help me out?

ALso, I already searched for it and didn;t really find much.

i'm not aware of any companies that will clear them (would be highly illegal on their end), I recall a thread about a resistor or something but not sure...

Do you have access to the PCM? if so, you could put the PCM in another car, restore to stock w/hypertech, then the hpp3 would be unlocked

I would contact Hypertech,

I work for a similar company, and with a insurance company documentation of a vehicle being totaled, we work with the customer to resolve their issues like this.

the issue is restoring the hypertech unit so it's not a paperweight (hpp3 doesn't lock the PCM)

hpp3 writes to PCM, stores stock file in HPP3... until the stock file is restored to the PCM, the hypertech won't work on other vehicles

if that works that'd be very good info... and at same time shocking that they would lock to the VIN and not PCM ID lol

There is a reason that all the people that have been doing this dont post this stuff on a public forum...

DynoDr is correct ... this is intellectual property so would be best if not publicly posted ... let the geek side of me overrule the legal side
