Default FormulaFire is such a fitting Name

Well.. Just thought I would let everyone know......

We've had the Formula WS6 running strong with the th400 for about a week now..

I was driving it to the track last night with some buddies last night.. For her maiden voyage down the strip.. We were expecting big things to come in the future..

BUT!!!!! 1/4 mile from the exit off the interstate to the track... She caught on fire and Burnt to the ground.. Total loss.. Not a positive on what cause the fire. No overheating or other problem leading up to this fire.. It started on what appeared to be the underside of the engine bay around the firewall. moved up to the topside of the engine bay and then back throughout the cab. Everything Gone...

Luckily for everyone's morbid fascination!! My friend caught Everything on video.. So video and pictures to come soon... YAY!!!

So my Formula was on Fire..

That sucks man, sorry to hear

Are you sure it wasn't something puking (vent on the trans from getting hot on the highway) or similar? Do you have adequate insurance on the car?

That is a real bummer...I remember driving that car to a 10.9 @ 128mph at heavier than full weight with the six speed, ET streets and old QMP kit with Paul several years ago.

Sorry to hear that,

You know I was looking forward to seeing how it did for you.

If I had the money at the time I would have bought it. I always liked that car.

I hope the insurance company is somewhat fair to you.

the car wasn't overheating and all the guages were reading good.. Which is why I have no def. idea.

Will see what the insurance company can do.. It was Full coverage.. But nothing special as far as aftermarket. I called Paul earlier and talked with him. He was pretty sad.. She had MAJOR potential..

You're actually lucky it did it on the highway. If it was killed on the track, you probably wouldnt get a dime (depending on your insurance).

that's what I figured.. But I would have much rather gone out in a blaze on the track.. I'm probably going to loose my *** either way.

Scary stuff !! at least you're ok !

IMO fuel usually just evaporates...

ATF, or power steering fluid ( same stuff ) is extremely flammable though, esp if it comes into contact with say a hot exhaust.....

PS fluid on my PTK manifold scared the crap out of me. I bought my extinguisher the next morning.

Sorry to hear about the car, but glad that it didn't happen at 120+. You could've had a fireball...
