new-style PCV

new-style PCV
I use 1/2qt of 0-30 GC per 2300 miles or so. If I were to switch to the new style PCV with the fixed oriface, would that help? Is 1/2 per 2300 miels bad with GC?

I think what BLKWS.6 is asking about is the revised GM PCV valve that was issued for the trucks I beleive. There is no actual 'valve' inside, just a much smaller orfice than the stock valve.
If so, I tried this in my '00 car, frankly it didn't seem to make any difference. Doing the verticle PCV mod seemed to do more (and even that wasn't a big difference).
My WS6 started using a lot of oil after the cam swap. I think it was a combo of the stock low tension rings with increased cylinder pressure from the cam and the higher stall TC keeping the revs higher with light load on the motor.

Switching to GC 0w30 cut mine from 1qt/800mile to maybe half a qt every 8000 mile. I haven't seen the low oil light since switching to GC and have gone through 3 scheduled mileage oil changes.
