New tb installed....now high idle

New tb installed....now high idle just put a ported tb on the car and now i have a high idle,,,,,goes from 1000 to 1500...........i noticed that when i looked at the tb i can see past the butterfly.........like its not completely sealed..........What do i need to do??

Are you sure the arm on the TB shaft is the same size as yours? 98-99 are smaller than 00-02. If you have a 98-99 car and bought an assembled TB for an 00-02, then your TB is being held open by the throttle cable. It's easy to swap the TB shafts around, you just need a couple torx bits.
If it's the correct size, then check the idle screw where the TB arm rests at the closed position. It's possible it may not have an idle screw as well.
Before putting the TB on, were you able to see large gaps around the TB blade itself when in the closed position? More of a gap = more air passing by the blade when closed.

tb its the right tb for my car ,,01 z28,,,yea i could see a gap but from what im reading,,just about all of them have gaps.......it does have that adj. screw, will that help me out,,,thought these cars could not be adjusted manually

Try adjusting that stop screw. Sounds like it's holding the plate open too far. I put on a ported TB last weekend and it works great. My car idles back down to 600 rpm's like normal. Throttle response is much better with the ported TB.

the same thing happened to me also, check the hole that is in the blade. the hole was to large in the one I bought so my car idled high until I switched the blade out for my stock one. then it idled perfect.

The same thing happened on my friends car when he put on a BBK throttle body. I adjusted the screw for the stop and the idle went down to normal. If that doesnt work it might have been ported to much.
