I finally got my 9 sec lic tonight. Also got a new best mph. In the process on my third pass I launched into a huge wheelie, and well tacoed the oil pan, rack, and k-member. I also tore up the front and rear bumper covers. Needless to say the track was hooking a little to well tonight. The pass I went the new mph was a 1.37 60ft 9.74 @ 144.38. :bang: :bang:

Nice! Crazy for an N/A setup. You guys will make it into the 9.2-9.3 range. Everything just has to come together in one pass.

Congrats Joe, thats just an amazing MPH! Have you posted your engine specs somewhere i can look at? :)

The engine is 385ci, 280ish Comp solid roller, .750 lift, 15.1 to 1 compression, ET 245cc heads, Jesel Mohawks, Smith Brothers 3/8 pushrods, JE Pistons, Eagle crank, and rods, Melling oil pump, Rollmaster double roller timing chain, Moroso 6 quart oil pan, and a Beck sheetmetal intake. All on a stock 2002 GM PCM tuned by me. It made 655whp at 7400rpms on a Dynojet at G-force Motorsports.

I saw the pics of the death launch last night. WOW!

The crank is a 4.0" and the bore is 3.910. Not a typical race combo but it seems to make good power. Here is a pic. :drive:

That was a 1.51 60ft on the bumper.

Sorry to here about the damage.
Great MPH thought!
You should have a lot left in the car.
You need to call Madman and get a set of pro wheelie bar for that think!
While I am building my new project, I had Madman build a set for me, the quality and workmen ship is awesome.
I talked with him and he spec out what would work best for my set-up. He custom built them and had them to me in FL in 4 days.

Man!!! That's an awesome pic, but the end results sucks. If I would have made it out there, I would have had a good video of it. Ouch!
BTW-I ran out and tightened my MadMan Travel limiters another inch ;) I can't risk that just yet.
If that pass would have landed smooth..OMG! That would have been the new best.
Let me know if I can help.

i agree that has to be the highest launch i have seen in a 6 speed as well. i think the highest the bottom of my front tires have ever been was maybe 2 feet.

What size dome piston and what brand? Just wondering if you milled the head to get compression or did it with the piston.
ls1 joe
01-14-2007, 09:08 PM
Taner, Yea I had the sya bars, I am sure that they helped but I don't think that any bars could save the pan from a landing like that.
1fstGM, the pistons are JE, and thay have no dome. They do have a 6cc valve notch.
I had the ET heads milled to 45cc chambers.

We use both HP tuners and LS1edit.
Thanks
Amber
Why both? The car is ill.
ls1 joe
01-15-2007, 09:41 AM
Not alot of people know that HP has a rev limiter maximum value of 8000rpms. With LS1edit it is 11,999rpms. We use LS1edit to control our rev limiter and HP Tuners for everything else.
Thanks,
Amber

most people are ok with 8000 rpm rev limitors lol. great job guys. its great to see what others tell us is impossible. you know, 7400 rpm stock bottom ends and 8400 rpm solid rollers!

congrats on the new mph man, that is awsome, low 9's are comming soon, and im sure when i say been there done that, it was fun at the time and sure as heck never wanna do it again cause it cost alot you would probably agree on the wheelie, my wheelie looked really similar to that the nite i demolished my sya bars, i managed to drag my bumper even with the high rear so you know the front had to be up there, luckly i had my springs set a lil high and it didnt bog bad so i didnt demoilish anything. hope it dont cost you too much

I do have that on video. The only problem is I was so busy watching the car and going "HOLY SHIT" that you see it come down and bust the pan but then all you see is me walking towards the ground with the camera pointed at my feet. Cool video though.
Thanks,

So what size runners and length on the Beck intake? Also what rear gears and tire size?
ls1 joe
01-21-2007, 09:32 PM
I think the runners are about 6 inches long, the heads are 245cc, I don't know the runner volume of the intake that is something that Beck could answer and the rear gear is 4.71 tire is 28/10.5/15 et drag.

Hey Joe, what size throddle body is on the intake, where did you get it and who makes it? I am looking at picking an intake up and need this info. Thanks!

105MM Accufab for a ford TPS.
Thanks,
Amber
1fstGM
01-31-2007, 01:13 AM
Joe,
What are you using for a throddle cable? Also are you using the other sensor on the throddle body? I know the TPS is a ford and then you splice it to fit the factory harness right?
ls1 joe
01-31-2007, 09:14 AM
I had a custom piece made for the throttle arm that uses the stock throttle cable, and stock throttle cable bracket. I also got the IAC housing from accufab, and yes I do use the Iac. I did splice in the Ford tps, I spliced it in with a 3 pin weather pac.
1fstGM
01-31-2007, 12:11 PM
So the IAC also gets spliced and connected to the factory harness? Who made the throttle arm for you, I might need one?
ls1 joe
01-31-2007, 01:17 PM
The IAC you use is the factory one that is on your stock throttle body, so no splicing is needed there, the machine shop I use is the one that made the throttle arm. I will try and get some pics of it soon.

01-31-2007, 02:03 PM

Yea, they can make anything

01-31-2007, 02:53 PM
You think you can hook me up with their number or contact info?
ls1 joe
01-31-2007, 11:10 PM
It would be better if I had it made and sold it to you. I am not trying to be a dick or nothing like that, but these guys are very old fashioned. It is a 2 man manual machine shop. I would have to take them mine so he can duplicate it, as they don't do blueprints on such small run items.
