Default quick rod bearing question

I was about to order some new rod bearing for my LS6 build and came across something. There were two sets of the same bearings but one set was more money. Upon further reading, the more expensive set has dowel pin hole's. I was checking and the stock rods don't have any dowel's correct? I was going to purhcase the one's without the dowel hole's. So what are the dowel hole's for anyway?

Here is a link to them.

Default Rod Bearings

The LS1 uses a standard Small Block Chevy large journal rod bearing.

The dowel pins are used on aluminum rods to keep the bearing in place. Since they "grow/expand" more than steel it is necessary to use the dowel.
