Default LS1 Swap for an 87 Iroc-Z

Hey guys, was wondering if this has been done? Swapping out the 350 TPI in for an LS1? if it has been done who all has done it and what was needed for the swap? im guessing the 700R4 would need to be changed with a 4L60-E and etc etc..im j/w if it has been done and how hard is it to do. Thanks for any input/info....

This swap has been done many times, in fact it is almost a bolt in now. Motor and trans mounts are available prefabricated from a few places. Speartech makes direct plug and play wiring harnesses. This is a site that should have some info http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2407208. But if you search or even just look back a couple pages there should be lots of threads in this forum with info.

just start looking into it one system/area/part at a time.... then if you have specific questions, its alot easier to answer then a broad "what has to be done" question.

a 99+ Fbody pullout is the easiest swap for a thirdgen IMO.. because it almost bolts in.... just swap motor mounts and crossmembers.... no driveshaft, or torque arm worries... the PS pump hoses fit. the accessories clear. the wiring is well known.. the throttlebody is cable actuated... ect..
