I'm sure this has been discussed before. Either I am inept at the search function, or I just don't know where to look.

Does anyone have any details about this? Is it worth the swap? If you have links or can direct me on where to look, I would greatly appreciate it.

If you're just doing a straight swap, then it does get complicated because of the reluctor ring on the stock LS2 (58X) is not compatible with the LS1 PCM's which are only compatible with a 24X reluctor. The cam sensor and knock sensors also present challenges, but are relatively easy to overcome because of the aftermarket adapter harness available from companies like Katech (sponsor here).

How much are you getting this LS2 GTO motor for??
I know that you can pick up a forged 408 Iron Shortblock for pretty cheap. And it will be ready to throw in your car already.

I believe all `05 LS2's use a 24X reluctor and are compatible (I read this in the GM performance parts catalog) otherwise Like said above the sensors aren't a big problem you would just need to set up the correct exhaust and a Cable operated throttle body.

why would you want to? for 400 hp? spend 2500 bucks for H/C and have 450hp and save the headaches.
