New LS1 Owners - Newbie Tech - Braking sounds

Hey guys. (if it makes any difference, I have a 1999 Firebird v6)

When I'm braking, usually my brakes are silent, but sometimes they squeek, and, more annoyingly, the back right wheel sometimes makes a sound that resembles a large piece of plastic being dragged across the concrete. I'm hoping this isn't a problem with the brake pads, because I just had new brake pads put on a month and a half ago. Any ideas/advice would be appreciated.

No Ideas? Well then I guess I should just take it in and have it looked at.

Maybe its your brake pad wear sensors and the pads need to be replaced, or your rotors are warped, etc.

Get new pads and take your rotors to oreillys to have them "turned".

That should fix it.


You shouldnt have to take your car in for brakes....Brakes are probably the easiest thing to do on a car.

Did you get your rotors turned. You should do it everytime you switch pads. Feel the rotors; it should PERFECTLY smooth. If there's any ridges or warped. There's something built in the bottom of the pads that make them squeek when it's time to replace, but if they're new they should be fine. Seeing as they're new you can pick up some stuff to make em stop squeeking it's at any auto parts store. -Draggin on concrete? I don't know about that, doesn't sound good
