Just don't drive it around for too long and don't romp on it either. Your AFR will be messed up. It'll mostly depend on how far from stock you stray on both the heads and Cam.

as xtnct said depends on how radical a combo your building. My buddy ran around on his 224tr for a month untuned and it wasnt too bad, but if your going good sized cam with heads, maf, and ported/aftermarket tb your:

A) not going to get all the power gains you would tuned
B) could cause some serious damage to the motor if you go lean, especially in the upper rpms

My suggestion is to wait till you can get it tuned ASAP after the install

I'm almost done w/ my G5-X2 install... I don't plan on going WOT or much over 4000 rpms until I get a chance to lock in the AFRs.

The mods I have in my sig have been there since 2001, have not had it tuned yet and daily drove it everyday till 2003 when I went in the military and went to japan. Have logged over 50,000 miles since installing cam and headers. Nitrous was taked off at cam header install but other than that everything is like it is in the sig. Have run around 20-30 1/4 passes and go WOT on the street a lot. Only thing I have done is drilled the throttle body blade hole out so it will idle and not die at redlights. I do know my car runs rich still so that is one safety I have without tuning. I kept telling myself I was going to get heads before I tuned but kept pushing purchasing back and back. I am going to get them in a month of so and will have it tuned as I know I am leaving a lot on the table power wise without it. But as far as hurting my motor without tuning, not here. All cars are not the same though, yours may go lean when adding different things to it as to where mine richened up(rich is safe, lean is mean). Coming from experience, don't take the chance like I have and get it tuned if you have the money from the get go. It will run better and you will get that piece of mind knowing it is right. I talked myself out of it and took the cheap way out so far it has not bitten me yet. I have been LUCKY so far.

If you have the money for all the mods in your sig why wouldnt you spend the extra $400 to get it tuned or at least get a mail order tune? As others have posted you can get away with it for a little while but your asking for trouble.

Most of the mods were on the car when I traded for it. The only thing I done was put a bigger cam in it.

If you mod the car, get it tuned. That's all.

Get it tuned
-too rich you risk washing out and damaging the cylinder walls
-too lean, and well, things like to start melting
