Default I know this question is beat to death...

But i'm trying to find the best cam possible for my needs. Streetability is a very minor concern to me.

My big thing is not revving over 6400rpms. I want to make as much power as possible throughout the entire powerband without revving passed 6400rpms. I want to trap 118-122mph on stock heads/intake... if I need the LS6 intake or FAST then yea i'll make that sacrifice. But try to exclude the intake from the equation.

You will not trap 118-122 without an LS6 intake, and some weight reduction. I suggest you buy all of the boltons, a good clutch, a new rearend, upgrade your suspension/tires and then worry about a cam and what your going to trap.

You NEED an LS6 or better intake manifold. Trust me. I installed my MS3, tuned it, the whole deal with the stock LS1 intake. It choked the **** out of it on the top end.

Search and read the stickies. You have other mods to worry about before a cam. Finish the basic bolt ons first. Full exhaust (headers, y/catback or duals), intake, CAI, lid, gears...

In your first post you said 6400 RPM....

There are tons of cams that will make good power without revving that high. Have you searched and read the stickies? I run an MS3 and have shift points set for 6500. It's not as fast as it will be when I get new rod bolts and shift higher, but chances are a smaller cam wouldn't do any better. I wouldn't suggest a cam this size for going to 6500, though.

Something in the mid to upper 230s duration, perhaps. Lots of choices. LG Motorsports G5X2, G5X3, TSP Torquer 2, 233/239, TR230...I am not up to speed on the current craze in cams...best to search.

No disrespect... but read what I wrote. I DON'T want to rev to 6800 rpms...

I have been reading about cams in LS1s for a while now. Just can't seem to find anyone who is keeping their revs down and trapping what I want. It's either big cam and revving high... or small cam and not revving so high. I'm looking for the perfect median. Big cam and revving not so high while making 400+whp

How about a comp custom grind at 228/232 .588/.592 on a 110+2. This is what I will be putting in my car in the spring. I spent about 5-6 months reasearching before I chose one. This cam is a excellant street performer, and make good power under the curve without reving it to the moon.

The bigger the cam, the more revs you need to get the most out of it. There is nothing you can do about that.

Why are you hung up on what numbers the dyno spits out?

I would go with a 224/228 or something similiar on a tight LSA.

Look up Patrick G's torque cam. If you don't want to shift high, you probably want it on a 110 (or even 108???). There is a huge thread about this, so go spend 5 hours and read it (seriously, it's that big).

The thread is called "torque coming out of my ears", very long but worth it I guess.

I don't think you can trap that high without revving the car to a decent RPM. Even if you had an LS6 intake.

i had patrick g desgin me a cam just for what you are wanting pretty much. i cant remember how much i paid, but that will go towards the cost of getting it cut. send him a pm and talk to him about it. you wont regret it, and i cant wait to get mine made!
