Id say Ac Delco here. Mine lasted pretty much down to the day(7 yrs) and I decided to keep with the AC Delco(heres hopin for another 7 yrs!). I have an Interstate battery in my GTP, so far so good on that bad boy, would probably buy again. I like to keep the WS6 totally stock and always use AC Delco replacement parts/fluids and so far so good on that note. Its wierd, an in-store brand called motomaster up here in Canada sells really **** car batteries(went thru 7 or 8 in 5 yrs!), but their marine batteries kick ***.... lol, longer than my 4.3 mercruiser did!

My delco almost made it to 36 months before dying - sears diehard gold went after less than 24 - now on an optima red top. I have two friends who had their delco leak from the positive terminal, so never went back to it.

Get the AC Delco Professional. They've worked great for me. That's the only battery I use in all my GM cars. Should go a minimum of 5 years and as much as 7.

When you are not going to be driving your car for 2, 3, or 4 days, install a Battery Tender on it. In fact, connect the Battery Tender to the battery any time that you are not driving the car (like over night). A Battery Tender will extend the life of your battery.

I would call that overkill. The stock battery in my Camaro lasted 6 years, and that car has sat for months at a time with the battery connected and no tender. Same for my old WS6.

Had a Optima yellowtop in my S-10 for over 5 years and no problems. Put a redtop in my SS shortly after buying it in May of 2005 and zero problems so far. As you mentioned about the leaking, so did the stocker with the orginal owner of my SS - still need to clean it more.

I think optimas are worth the money and they look cool. I bought my car used and it came with the red top in it, not sure how old it is though. Ive left the interior lights on overnight a couple of times and had no problems starting the next day.

i think the AC delco are damn good batteries the only reason mine to a **** it cuz i left my radio on when it was like below zero so it froze after it went dead. As long *** you aren't in cold wheather a lot i'd go with AC. but if your like me and have freezing temps quite often then go with an optima dry cell. but personally i wouldn't replace it untill it goes to hell might take longer than you think for that AC to die.
