plus whats the differance in power from the 2.73-3.42?
thanks

Some guys claim a half second going 3.42's to 4.10's probably very comparable considering its about the same numerical difference.

well reason I ask is because my gears have always been noisy the backlash was set @.008 and I put new bearings well I had enough and i'm pulling them out saturday and putting back my 2.73 I know I will like the gas mileage but not the power loss.
I remember when i switch from 2.73-3.42 I did the 1/8 in the same ET
I did spin off the line alittle but not a whole lot.
it al depends how I like the 2.73 if not them i'm going with the 3.73 but motive gears.

I ran 11.70s with full boltons and 2.73 gears. I swapped those out for 4.10s and went 11.40s. Nothing else changed.

Just time changed not trap speed?

well I did the swap, it feels alittle slower on the same amount of gas I gave before but it smokes the tires more off the start now?
maybe it has something to do with my TC str 2.4
I have reall got on it yet to see any differance,
But I do love the low RPMs on the freeway.

I forget the trap speed. I would have to dig up the slips as it was over two years ago.

I did mine when the car was still stock. Times went from 14.0 to a 13.5 and 60's went from 2.21 to 2.0 seconds. The 2.73's suck at the strip, I could cross the finish line still in 2nd gear!!! It's like having a damn powerglide :)

well i got the gears installed, finally got on it after a few hundred miles break in, and all i can say is wow, the power difference is awesome. i'm expecting at least .3 off my et in the 1/8th.

well i finally got to the strip last friday, and the results were pretty good. i went from running an 8.86 with a 2.2 60' to an 8.54 with a 2.0 60'. i lost .3 just like i thought :) good gears for an auto car, i dont think i'd want to go much lower unless it was track only.

Your next mod should be TC. I went from constant 13.1s to 12.6s-12.7s on my stall and gear swap (2.73s to 3.42s). Those ETs were on 18" BFG street tires also.

sadly, that 60' was on nitto 555r drag radials so no there was no spin. i could pull a lower 60' if i didnt pussy foot it off of the line lol.

pulley ~ 10rwhp
mafs ~ -5rwhp haha j/k'ing i have no idea but could tell a small increace

but if u want a mafs go to the chevy dealership and order a 02 z06 ls6 one... there same size and already de-screened might swap mine out for one... might wanna check it to that... dont no if u have to do anything to the computer of if it has the same wire conecters or whatever.... but check into it....
