Question Fine to mix GC 0w-30 and M1 5w-30? Need to know asap...

The oil in my car has GOT to be changed, however I only have 5 quarts of GC currently. Absolutely NO places around me carry the GC, but I do have some M1 sitting around. I will be changing the oil again once summer comes around and will probably only be putting about 1k miles on it in the meantime. I know it won't harm my engine to mix the two, but I just wanted to see what you all thought about it and possibly bring to light any problems that this could possibly cause (or just give me the reassurance that I'm good to go for the time being).

I can't see why it would be an issue based on your explanation. Its not like there isn't a little oil left in the motor when you change anyhow and if mixing were that detrimental even swapping at a change would be a problem.

It won't cause any issues. There are studies showing that due to the different compositions, some oil brands don't mix well to become one. But I think it's a case of too much science that has no real-world influence.

Of course if the motor melts in the driveway or explodes, be sure to let us know
