Default T-TOP Leaks...

This is my second f body, and once again I see water drips on my passenger side. Only during long heavy rains of course. But Damn man!! I don't want that crap. Do any of you guys have to deal with leaks?

Mine are fine, however i have noticed that when i first got my car i took the t tops out and after that i started to hear squeaks. So now i dont even mess with them so that way they dont start to leak. This dosent help you but just thought i would share my experience. Maybe get some new rubber pieces to keep it sealed right.

I haven't had any problems on my 2000. On my Knight Rider conversion (89 Formula 350), I didn't have much of a problem from the top. I had a minor leak on the back on the window where is seals against the back of the window. Basically going vertical right above the door handle. The only way water really got in is if I was shooting a water hose towards the front of the car, so I washed it front to back to avoid shooting water in the small gap. Other than that, no problems with either one.

Both the 2001 and current 2002 T-tops got a few drops on the drivers side under heavy rain. There is a seam in the rubber right about there that I think is the problem. Never caused much of a problem although I don't like it. Might spray some silicone on the rubber.

My solution is to never drive my T/A in the rain! I don't know if it leaks, but I used to have an '80 z-28 that seemed to direct all of the rain into the drivers side

Everytime i wash my car i put some baby oil on the rubber seal so it doesn't dry out. I have a 95 Z28 and i have no leaks so far.

Seriously, weatherstripping is only like $99 bucks a side at Year One. Just replace the side that is leaking. I would fix the leak before your carpet starts to get all damp and moldy.

Put a mild amount of petrolium jelly on the seal. Where the window meets the t top. Or where you feel it is leaking. Cheapest way to go.

I Concur. I replaced my T-Top Liner and it still Leaked on both 3rd and 4rd gens. Use Petrolium jelly. After all the money wasted. The Jelly Worked Great.
