Default ? about wideband hookup

I would like to get a wideband O2 / tuning software before I do any more mods. Im wondering about the wideband hookup at the exhaust. I know its a wideband o2 but can I hook it up in a precat position instead of a narrowband? And does this effect the signals the PCM receives?

Thanks for your help,

Erik

You could use the wideband to replace one narrowband, but it is far better to have an extra bung welded into your exhaust.

I agree. It's not that hard to do.

Ok thanks guys. Is it better to get it placed on the driver or pass. side of the Y? Or try to get it after the 2 come together before the cats?

I put mine after the y, so it would get a combined reading of both banks.
If you are going to do it yourself, Harbor Freight makes a set of drill bits called step drills, that make drilling a perfectly round hole easy.
