Auto pros- I havent broke a rear end yet.
I quit going through clutches.
Its faster out of the hole. Gained .2-.3 1/8th
On the go-go juice picked up a great deal .3-.4 faster

Auto cons- lost 5-6mpg on the highway
Chances of the 4l60e going out at anytime
lack of fun from banging gears
Overheats real quick racing.

6spd pro- Banging Gears
+5-6 more mpg

6spd con- Breaking a rearend every race.
Going through clutches.

Get it done by a real good shop who knows what they are doing, not just "done again" cheaply so it holds you until it breaks again.

Im happy with it lasting a year. I Give it hell. It has seen alot of abuse in one year. I have had a bunch of highway roll races and I cant even tell how many drag races its seen. But, Im dropping the transmission off in the morning to see whats wrong with it. And, I am having my stall redone.

Well, I got my tranny back from the rebuild shop. The problem wasnt in the transmisson It was my stall. I striped out some spline in there. But, I have it all back together now with a 3800 stall and I love it. It is 10x better than the 2800. I cant wait till the track opens back up.

LOL @ this thread. Wow, no wonder people think the 60e is crappy. My trans has been in 2 years with many 10 & 11 second passes. There are very few who can build em right but once it's right it's drama free. Reminds me it's about time to have mine flushed.

actually the trans as he said was good the converter stripped out not sure that would have anything to do with trans builds
