Do i need tranny cooler?
I got my yank 3000 today and are going to have it put in tomarrow. Now, that will have it ready for my anual "trip to the strip" on wednesday night. I dont have a trans cooler now but i will get one so my question is will i be ok running a few passes down the drag strip w/o a tranny cooler or should i wait and get a cooler.

even i have thought about running a tranny cooler lol j/k (m6)
all auto will eventually die b/c of heat when they are stock, let alone when you start stalling them. A cooler should be a manditory 1st mod on all a4 cars IMO

If I was doing an auto car i'd do it pre stall even just for flogging sessions.

heat kills these otherwise respectable transmissions.
make sure you read the cooler directions throughly... trans fluid goes into the radiator (stock cooler) and then you plumb the outgoing line into the cooler, and then to the trans. dont route to cooler only.

No, route to the aftermarket cooler ONLY. Bypass the stock cooler.

Run the cooler and bypass stocker all together... I'm suffering right now because I didn't bypass the stocker with a 3400 stall. I put a b&m cooler on, but inline with the stocker. Trans only lasted 12,000 miles! and it was supposedly a built trans!
+1 for the COOLER!!

when you have an after market cooler the only thing the stock cooler will do is decrease flow through the AF cooler and heat up the fluid, if a car is running temps higher than 175*.
