Reasonable Estimate? Ok, I went to a local tire shop for an estimate on some tires for when I get 17" wheels. I'll break the estimate down for you, then please tell me if it is reasonable or not. I think it seems a bit high.
Nitto NT555 275-40-17 2@$165.92= $331.84
Nitto NT555R 275-40-17 2@$199.11= $398.22
Wheel balance 4@$14.99= $59.96
Tire Tax 4@$1= $4.00
Valve Stem 4@$2.99= $11.96

Well you can order order that EXACT same tire combo from DiscountTireDirect for $604 shipped. Then bring them the tires to mount.
Any time ive brought my own tires to a shop, ive never paid anymore than about $25 a tire to mount and balance.
That would be about $704 compared to your $843. Just a thought.

I paid 800 even for my Nitto's 275/40/17's with mount, balance and tax. This was at Just Tires. Now that I know better, I will use our Discount tire direct sponser we have here.
