Default how much is too much for a h/c swap

i was talking to a guy at our local garage today and he was saying he would do a h/c swap for about 1k. This is also without a tune just simply switching out the parts. Heads are already assembled and have all neccessary parts with me. Is this too much to pay or reasonable?
thanks

The question is really competition. If there is none, then the guy that can do it can charge whatever he feels like as long as someone wants it done.
I personally don't trust to many people, even the "knowledgable" ones with my car. I know that I will be more meticulous and causious than anyone else because its mine.
Do you trust this person and do you know anyone that has had work done with them before? I would pay more for a "true" expert who takes pride in there work, than some other guy who is cheaper but doesn't have good work ethics. That's why if I find someone I like, I stick with them!

Ive been thinkign the same question. Ive contact sponsers from this site and got quoted for 995 for head cam swap(including oil pump, gaskets, studs, crank pulley) Heads pre assembled like yourself, but my quote was including dyno tunning. I think 1000 is to much without a tune. If they include dyno tunning its a good deal. Good luck.
