I've got 17x9.5 z06 motorsports on my rear tires but want the tire to stick out a bit more on the sides. i was recommended switching to a wider rim like 17x11. can i still use the 17x9.5 to fit in a wider tire if i use some type of a spacer to fill in the extra width of the tire? i'm just trying to avoid buying a whole new set of rear rims.

Widest tire you should run on a 9.5" wheel is a 285/40ZR17.
