Default OBD II scan-port not working (another problem)

I tried to get my car scanned but the scanner could get NO readings or even any power from the OBDII port under my dash. The port looks physically ok and the scanner worked on a guy's jeep that they tested it on to make sure the scanner wasn't the problem. Is there a fuse or something that I need to replace? Why cant I get my car scanned? I need to find out what this SES light is about

When I worked at Autozone, I occastionally ran into this problem. Still not 100% sure why it happens. But sometimes it would work again by just jiggling the wires that go into the connector. Sometimes it would work again if the battery was unhooked for about 20 minutes. Of course then the codes are usually cleared.

A few times though, it was a broken wire. Plus...two of the wires in the connector are grounds. So it could be a ground issue.

If this helps ya...this should be the pin out for your connector so you can kind of trace wires if you need to.

Make sure you are getting that 12 volts at the battery terminal... That would indicate a broken wire or a fuse issue...

Good luck!

Justin

P.S.... I agree with the above post too. Just double check all the fuses in all the fuse panels/boxes.

Most likely a blown fuse. Its on the lighter fuse I believe.

No, dont think so. Always look at the simplest things first. No need to make it more difficult than it is.

take your license plate off and maybe God will cut you some slack when it comes down to the T/A.
