What is the best thing for fine scratches of new paint. The paint job is a month old and the cat jump on my car slipped and crawled down the headlight of my car and it is black so it shows really well. I have some few fine brush scratches to. Do you guys even use brushes because no matter how much I clean the brush before I use it i see more and more swirls on my black paint. Makes me sick. this is a pic just after a quick spray down I will get some good pictures after I detail it.[IMG][/IMG]

To do it properly you'll need an orbital buffer and use a buffing compound, followed by a machine glaze I think some use a micro glaze after that I never did, then wax, it should look as good as new or better.

Got to love black, Yeah anything will scratch. Meguiars Scratch and Swirl remover #9 is good since its just a polish and not a wax or some Zaino, but remember man. With black NO ONE or NO thing touches it. Thats is my rule only when it is freshly waxed will I touch my paint. Other than that dont touch it. I wont even a use a California Car Duster on my bird "get that crap out of here".

What kind of brushes are you talking about? I hope your not washing your car with one. I know there are some brushes specially made for washing cars but I wouldn't use one, especially on black. I know the troubles of having to keep a black car looking good. I've given up trying to keep it perfect, it is impossible for me so I just accept it and do the best I can. Anyway if the scratches aren't too deep they can be buffed out. However if you can feel them with your finger nail, short of new paint you won't get rid of them. You can only try to make them less visible.

well I usually use the automatic car washes but most the time they will not get it clean very good. I think I am just going to give it a good wax and see what that looks like. What is a good wax just to wax the entire car that will get the swirls out?

Automatic car wash = big no no.... I won't even take my ford escort through one unless it's completely touch free (laser wash)

yeah I was talking about a touchless auto. Do they even make ones that actually have brushes? I have never seen one where I live.
