Default A/C compressor at WOT?

Quick question about the A/C. I dynoed last weekend and when I left I noticed that the guy running the dyno accidentally put the vent control to the A/C position where it blows through the dash and floor vents together. He was trying to turn the heat on b/c it was only about 45 degrees outside and the garage door for the bay with the dyno was open so we were pretty chilly. The temp **** was turned all the way to hot so does the A/C compressor even engage or does the temperature **** have to be turned to a cold setting? If it does still engage is there a setting in the PCM to disengage it at WOT?
TIA

Yes, the PCM has a setting that disables the A/C clutch for WOT operation.
