Default New engine... questions on tune???

Alright... I just got a new engine installed into my 01 ws6. It wasnt new but it was an engine with 30,000 miles that was rebuilt. My real question is how in the hell am I going to tune it? Should I break the engine in for say... 500 miles and then have it tuned or should I have it tuned asap?

Well.... this is the entire story:
Took my car to a shop because I knew something major was wrong. It turned out to be a crack in the block sleave. They tried to fix it but when they where heating it up/cooling it down.... it cracked again. So they got another block out of a 99 z28 with 30,000 miles that had pistons/rods already in it. They slaped everything back together including patriot ls6 stage 2 heads, cheater cam, and a ls6 oil pump.
The shop that did the install said they tuned it but I know the guy at the shop.... and he can not tune for ****. It is running real rich and when you get on it at 50% it does not feel right. But if I just drive it like a grammother then it seems fine. I just do not want to hurt the engine by driving it around without a good tune and at the same time I do not want to pay 500 for a dyno tune and hurt the engine.

tune it asap. You already spent all that money you might as well make it worth it and tune it.

well I would either bring it somewhere, or if you really want to learn how to do it yourself, get hp tuners and a wideband sensor kit.
