02 Ta wont go into gear Hey guys, somewhat new to this forum, my buddy just picked up a perfect 02 ta firehawk, its so sick, perfect condition, its a lot of fun to rip around with him next to my vette. So here is my question, i may be in the wrong section of this site, but i fugured this is where the most knowledge and know how is. Occasionly when he gets in the car to go for a drive the shifter will not engage into ANY gear, we have tried pumping the clutch, reverse to first synchro check, the only way to move the car after it has locked up like this is to turn it off, throw it into gear, start it, and drive it. This seems to remedy the problem and the car becomes driveable, however sometimes after being put into neutral(at a red light) the problem will arise again. And now apparently, the transmission will grind going into gear even when the problem is not showing itself. the car got a new tranny and new clutch 10k ago, the car only has 30k on it. I am worried the synchros a screwed,Please let me know of anything you guys may think could cause this problem. I really appreciate it.
