Why Buy Rockers
I Keep On Thinking About Upgradeing My Rockers But Cant Seem To Find A Reason...
Are Stock Rockers Really Unreliable ?
Are The Roller Tip Ones Really Doing Anytihng Bedises Makeing The Car Quite?
Is Their Any Real Power Gains If Staying With The Same Ratio?

I am in the same boat as you. Not sure what to do. My stock ones have been going good since new so i guess they are reliable. Cant find a reason to spend my money on something that might not matter.

first i read about how they spill there bearing just out of the blue, could happen at any time or mileage. Then i thought about how pissed i would be if i pulled the oil plug out on a oil change and found a couple bearing from my rockers. Then i sent my stockers to harland sharp for a rebuild with there bulletproof bearings. Now i dont have to worry everytime i pull out the oil plug.it cost about 260 bucks all said and done.not too much money for the reliability if you ask me.I dont want to know what one of those little bearing could do if they somehow got in the wrong place in your motor.

What are the best roller tip rocker replacements. In my search for advantages I've found the roller tips are much more reliable, and quieter. They are heavier however and many won't fit under stock valve covers without spacers.
My concerns are longevity of the aluminum aftermarket pieces. The steel stockers are built for endurance but how about T&D's, Jessel's, and Harland's.

I just went through this when isntalling my G5-X2 cam. My stock rockers had/have 70k on them. I was worried about needle bearing failure w/ the upped spring pressure. But upon researching I it seems that most roller rockers (Harland Sharp and 1st version Yella Terras) add weight over the valve tip that can casuse float in some cases. Most people sent their stock rockers off the Harland Sharp to get the trunions upgraded so the needle bearings can no longer fail. This costs about $275 and takes some time for turn around.
Well... it turns out that Yella Terra revised their design to remove the "weight over the valve tip" issue. I found them on sale for under $400 so I went for it. They work great and I have no more valvetrain noise than when stock... just some mild sewing machine noise.

I am planning on the Harland Sharp modded stockers as well. No roller tip, but the same reliability and light weight as stock with a more durable bearing. I originally wanted to go with a set of adjustable rockers, but the small stock metric retaining bolt changed my mind on that. Now if I was going aftermarket I would most likely go with the Jesel's (adjustables not the SS's) or the T&D's.

The aussies make some good stuff. Just look how many people are running the Textralia clutches.
I've put about 6000 miles on my yella terras and no problem.
I haven't seen any power gains but I have noticed reduced valve train noise and that was worth the $380.00 to me.

Looking at those...it makes me wonder if the loss of material will result in them being even weaker and more breakage prone??
The next thing I wonder...even though they are lighter over the valve tip....are they actually lighter than stockers?
Cobra, I'm not knocking your choice...I'm just voicing real concerns.

^ They feel far more solid than the stamped steel stockers. But I'm no engineer. YT is known for maing good stuff and is a big player down under. Being shaft mount and full roller they're very very solid.
Plus... Im cam is .598 and .608 lift so this removes any chance or rocker arm flex at high rpms w/ the 921's and hardened pushrods in. Using the stockers you apparently give up some effective lift up top.
