Default Need some advice here guys.

Well heres the deal. I've got a set of Pacesetters, TSP True Dual, and Fast 90/90 ready to be installed on my 98Z. Well the shop that I'm going to have it done at told me $350 for all of it done. They charge $50 per hour for labor. Thats cheap. Well they will install heads, cam, and headers for $900. So if I were to wait a little while until I have the funds for heads and cam I could just take it to them and have it all done for $900. They obviously don't charge extra to do the intake because it has to come off anyway. I'd basically save myself around $300 by just waiting until I can do it all at once. Heres my dilemma though. The motor has 114,000 on it. I'm worried about the bottom end holding together after putting heads and a cam on it. Specifically spinning a bearing would be my biggest worry. What would you guys do? I mean afterall $300 is $300. If I did it all at once I wouldn't be paying for labor twice. So what do you guys think? TIA.

Intake manifold takes less than an hour to install. Do it yourself. If you are not comfortable doing it yourself, post in the local forums and ask for help. Someone is bound to be willing to help you do it for nothing.

Headers & TD's will take about 6 hours and are also easy to do.

Yeh someone in one of the local groups offered to help me do the exhaust, headers. I just don't have a place to work on the car anymore. Plus I don't really care to work on stuff much anymore as my time is limited. I would never attempt the cam and heads myself. My main question is it worth doing the cam and heads on a shortblock with that many miles.
