Default custom factory ss 10 spokes

hey guys,

i have a question. the silver painted ss 10 spokes are painted aluminum right? what if i stripped all the paint and polished the aluminum, would they look chrome? cuz the ws6 rims are polished aluminum, just wondering

It's possible, but a lot of work.

ALL OF WORK...you would probably wish you just would've bought chrome wheels before the first wheel was done. It would probably take at least 4 hours per wheel to get to the aluminum, not to mention trying to polish it. There is alot of surface area and alot of tight spots

It took me a lot of time to try to get the face polished for a custom look. I would say it would take approximately 2 hours to just get the ridges off of the wheels. If you strip the paint from them, they still have a rough texture under the paint. The wheels have small ridges under the paint and it will take a lot of sanding to remove them and smooth it out. That doesn't include the time it takes to get them polished. I would say if you insist on them then go for it. It doesn't take a lot of money and material to get them there if you do them yourself, but it is time consuming.

When you strip the wheel you will find the face of the spokes are machined, just like the 35th LE wheels. In between the spokes it is rough cast still. It will be a **** ton of tedious work. I have seen a set done but they didn't look as good as chrome.
