Default Feeler thread for 10 bolt

A buddy of mine is thinking of selling the 10 bolt out of his 99 SS. He had built by Pyle Bros. in Baytown a couple of months ago. It has an Eaton posi and 4.11 gears. It only has about 500 mi since the build. He is thinking $1800 obo local pick up only. What do you guys think?

yea....that is WAYYYY over the usual rebuild price. Anyone can get a core 10bolt and have it rebuilt for less than $700 (including new gears and posi).

12 bolt...yes
10 bolt...nope

That is about 200 off from a new 12 bolt. I think that he is gonna have to cut his losses and take most of that price tag off. We aren't trying to hijack, but he will never sell it at that price. That is just an honest answer.

Now, if it is a 35 spline and has a 8.5 ring, it might be worth some more.

I was just throwing it out there. I agree that it is a bit high but, it is not my rear end to say what it is worth.

Very true. That is why this is a "feeler".

FWIW- I sold my Pyle Bros built 10 bolt with Aluminium TA cover, welded in LCA relocation brackets, solid pinion spacer, Welded axle tubes, Eaton posi and all new bearings to a guy on here for $650.00.

Don't get me wrong, I had more than your $1800.00 invested into it and it pulled 1.42-1.44 60fts and is still going today. There's just not many people that are going to pay that for a 10 bolt. The 10 bolts are definitely quicker and dyno better. I kind of wish I still had mine

Good luck!

depends on what you are doing with it I guess. I have had several v8 s-10's and the lastest one is in the works. I ran them all on the stock 10 bolt wo trouble. I found an 8.8 out of an exploder I'm puttin in this one but only bc it has disc brakes.
