Default BFG g-Force Sports vs. Nitto 555 Extremes, need quick votes

Will be purchasing two of these by early morning.
275/40/17 for my fronts.
I already have the Nitto 555R (drag radial) in 315s coming.
What do you think? The sports are $42 cheaper.
If I went with 255/40/17 Nitto Extremes I could get them for cheaper than the g-Force Sports. If I get BFG, 275s might be too big for my 9" front torque thrust wheels right?.

I need something for awesome wet traction & pretty good dry traction

g-Force Sports ($42 cheaper)

Nitto Extremes (better looking) $298 for 275s & $238 for 255s

I think I'm going to get 255 up front instead of 275. a lot cheaper & will make the back wheels look wider. good idea?

no votes. I'm buying the Nitto 555 Extremes in 255/40/17. (2) tires & stems for $244 shipped. good deal?

G-Force will probably last you a little longer. A 275 is not too wide for the front, but it's your call.

I had Nitto Extremes on all four corners..275/40/17 and I couldn't be happier. Great looking tire, no road noise, great tread rating, overall great wet and dry traction and decent price. I'm now running Extremes up front with Nitto 315's out back..I love it.

Look at the Sumitomo HTR Z III and Avon M500 from TR. Even less money for good tires.

G-Force is great in the dry, but sucks *** in the wet, and especially the cold. I'd try Nitto before I'd try them again on a daily driver...

I think it should be noted that F-bodys suck in the wet.

Nitto's are great tires and pretty good on the rain for what they are. You can actually run 245/40/17 in the front if you want, that's what i ran on my coupe.

Judging from the tread design, those BFG's will give you better wet. IMO, Nitto's suck, period. I know because I have them and just posted a thread about how much I dislike them.

I would go with a different tire all together though. BFG KDW NT2's. Awesome wet, and a great looking tire. Nitto's also run a bit too narrow for me as well.

I have both tires, and nittos are better, more traccion, less wear, but the extremes are not the ones you need , extremes are for road racing, you need to buy the 555r drag radial, i have 305-35-18 in the back and they work perfect

I got Nittos on all four. Were on the car when I bought it at 19,000 miles. Car now has 43,000 miles and they are still there. I haven't been easy on them either!

"I have both tires, and nittos are better, more traccion, less wear, but the extremes are not the ones you need , extremes are for road racing, you need to buy the 555r drag radial"

Not true.

Nitto makes 4 tires for us:

Nitto Extreme
Nitto Drag radial (R)
Nitto Road Race (RII)
Nitto NT-01 - a better road race tire

The 'extremes' are a regular old street duty tire not designed for racing at all.

I have had the first 3 tires, soon to buy the 4th.

The extremes work good for daily driving. The drag radial we all know about. I love driving the RII on all 4 rims but they wear quick like the drag radial (10-15K). GREAT autox tire.

The NT-01 will wear quick driving daily on them but they stick like mad for cornering.

The extremes I have 30K on them and the tread looks like it's hardly been worn. Awesome in the rain, not so great in the dry (they react just like a normal street tire would).

My $.02
