ATTN: Foxbody swap guys, I need all of your help....
I have been talking to George over at Kooks after seeing that they just released some sbc foxbody sway headers. He is very willing to make a set of ls1 based foxbody swap headers assuming there is enough interest. So this is the place to do it! George said he could get started within the next couple of weeks!!!!

Yeah, I think the price tag is going to scare a lot of potentials away. It's too bad too. We really need a header for these car that's direct fit. Myself, I just bought some 1.75" MAC longtubes for a 302 w/ TFS high port heads and plan on welding on the LS1 flanges to make them work. Got them local for $250.

the price is what gets alot of people. hell i bout a set of kooks 2" for a 351 windsor and cut the crap out them. the headers were 300 used. they should go ahead and make them. I'm sure some people will still buy them.

maybe someone can get with AJE since they already have an lsx k-member and talk to them about it. didn't someone say it's actually too close to the firewall? if so, owners & interested buyers of said k' should call and see about moving the mounting position a little forward, say an 1" if that's all that's needed. if i'm mistaken though, then why not just go with that one. my $.02.

I have the aje swap k-member its a great piece. it places my ls1 within an inch from the firewall and has 1/2 to 3/4" clearance for the oil pan (camaro pan). I am awaiting my th400 and I will be looking to do a custom set of headers. $700-800 will be great. I was quoted locally $1000-1100

On a previous post on LS1 Mustang headers here:
https://ls1tech.com/forums/conversions-swaps/338338-mustang-ls1-headers.html
12thstreetjunkman mentioned that he used a flarer to bring the boxed primaries back to round. Any idea of what type of tool he is referring to? That seems like that is going to be one of the hardest parts of the project to do.

a small exhaust flare tool should work. It is what the use to make straight pipe larger to fit od size exhaust. But you have to watch and use some heat or the pipe will crack.
Maybe this will help

When I did mine, I just opened the holes a little with a pair of channel locks, then took them to the exhaust shop, and had them open them up the rest of the way with there machine. I took the LS1 flanges with me so the open them up just the right amount.
