Gears & Axles - Finally found out why my motor wouldn't spin.

I just got a call that my car is being put together right now. It appears that a bolt on the back of the engine backed itself out and hit the flywheel. The bold broke and the flywheel shattered and took out the starter with it. They are taking the rest of the bolts out and puting them back in with locktite and the one bolt that backed out they are leaving the shaft in the block.

If it were me I would have the "shaft" taken out and replaced with a new bolt. Just my opinion, tho.
