Car sat for 7months..flush tranny??
Whats up all!! Well, before I left, the tranny was doing pretty good. Had no problems on the street and only time I had probs with the tranny was when I went to get the car dyno tuned couple months before I left my tuner said that my stall was to tight and not very efficient and that its slipping causing 3-4 lockup to not want to hold.
Well, I have a brand new Yank sitting here. Should I just get the tranny flushed and install the new stall and have at it. Or should I pull it and bring it to the shop to have it gone through? I dont want to ruin a brand new $800 Yank right now.
Thanks.

well, its been rebuilt 3 times prior. I, uh, well, havent been able to find someone to build me a tranny that will hold. you could build me one, install it. then i'd go run at the track and poof, there it goes. my car really doenst like em..sucks. costing me to much money.
btw, probally less than 2k miles since last rebuild.

Does not sound like you have had much luck have you been getting them built locally or something I know I see cars listed in here and other forums in the 9 second range with
built 4l60e trans all the time. So just wondering, But if its built and working well and only 2000 miles then I would just put the converter in .

Heres some pics of the tranny pan when I dropped it. The lights kinda crappy, and the fluid was not as dark as it looks in the pics.
Not as bad as I thought it would be.

the filter was dirty, but the fluid wasn't that bad. in the pics it looks really darker than it actually was.
Oh..and when this one goes. I'll probably blow the damn tranny up with some dynamite and just stick in a Th400 or 6spd. I'm really tired of messing with these damn things.

I did, it was clean. Oh man..I really, really, really, really HATE pulling and re-installing these transmissions. The most horrible job I have done on my car; to think I've done it 4 times already. Ugh. Well, new stall in and everything is working 4.0. And I am very happy so far.
