Big Stuff 3 VS HP Tuners on turbo 403"
Well I guess I have a delimma..
I purchased a complete drivetrain that came with big stuff 3 tuned to the car. It is a 403" twin turbo motor that I got turn key down to the twin turbo setup, accessories , down to the belt on it.
I've never used Big Stuff 3 but it has a 3-bar map sensor working with it and the car runs pretty good up to 15psi that they used.
I already have HPTuners and I'm pretty good with it. It would be easier to just drop the motor in complete and hook up stock wiring harness and start tuning it with the 3 bar, real time tuning setup from HP tuners because I wouldnt have to install big stuff 3 and then learn how to use it.
This motor made 750 rwhp @ 15 psi 403"
Do you guys feel I am much better off keeping the Big Stuff 3 on the motor or just using HPTuners and selling off BS3 to get some of my money back out of it?

If you can use HP tuners, BS3 will be easy to learn. Both systems have the ability to run the engine, but your use for the car would dictate the best choice.
If the car is for test and tune days and chassis dyno days then either will work but the stock with HP would keep all your stock function. If you plan on doing competetive racing the BS3 will be much better suited for that.

Like stated above that power was at 15 psi.... did your procharger make more then 750rwhp on 15 psi and if it did it only ran 10's?????? Thats what i call bad day...
With that combo he's only a **** turn away from 1Krwhp.....

well, bs3 has the harness available to allow use of your stock gauges. ITs tricky, but doeable. Inspector gadget said it best, it the only thing holdin you back is learning a new software, well, stick with the bs3. Its all you will ever need in a tuner box and some. Im sure you know that though...
750rwhp is nothing to laugh at. Would like to see most ppl go 100% throttle with 750rwhp and not be alittle freaked cuz your care just shifted two lanes in either direction!! Those numbers are fine... about as much as you need to dominate the streets and track, with a dialed suspension that is..

Well guys, I think I have to say I really appreciate the advice from many of you that I highly respect on here. By the way, the power it made was through a rear mount twin kit on a chevy truck so a little different setup.
If alot of the reasons for keeping HPtuners was for the stock electronics and gauges, then man im really good to go. I am using the factory mustang gauges which work off simple senders and will be very easy to hook up. I guess the main thing is I was worrying HPTuners wouldnt work as well trying to put this motor up to 22-25 psi when I try to put down some ET's. Do any of you have any detail about what BS3 will do better than HP?
It sounds like im sticking to BS3 and i can just sell off my conversion wiring harness/pcm stuff.
This thing even came with a meziere billet flexplate, I didnt even know they made those! lol...
I just unloaded it at home. It took two truck fulls of parts to get here.
I got the motor turn key literally. It included 3 nitrous kits including a nicely done direct port (as you can see in the pictures), complete twin turbo kit, water/air intercooler setup, bs3, progressive nx maximizer, and like another 15k worth of fuel system, misc parts, and other stuff. motor has never been sprayed as the nitrous kit was never actually functional.
I think this thing will make a solid 1k rwhp with my S-series turbo I just from Jose...Im gon
My car its going into:
90 lx, 2800lbs with old 351w /w transbrake C4....325/50/15 MT Radials and i've got a nice TH400 /w a brake.
Motor pics before It was taken out yesterday
