Cool Twin T-61 Mustang Project Complete

This build was started at the shop about 18 months ago after the owner took out his previous engine with a supercharger.

Most of the engine work was done by the owner of the car (Ryan) and the fabrication and turbo work done by Joey at Excessive AutoSports. Most of the lay-out of the engine bay and running of wires, piping, etc. was done by Ryan and Joey. The intercooler are twins - one in each fender - and are air-to-water. Radiator is an E-bay special, from an ex-NASCAR car - huge

The car/engine is a 5.4 DOHC engine (believe it came out of a Navigator). Here's a couple of the spec, but I really don't know everything about the complete setup.

Built motor, its got billet rods, probe pistons, race bearings, ARP everything, Sullivan inatake, AEM EMS, AEM C2DI, 160lb injecotrs, 4r75w trans, the list goes on and on, its good to about 1500rwhp. Stock heads if I remember right.

Goal initially will be 900-1000rwhp. This will be a street/strip car. Everything retained except heat and a/c. Even backseats will be in. 10-point Wolfe cage.

Here's link to the initial start up: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9oQ1XL0k6SA

I'll try to get Ryan to answer any questions if need be.

Here's some pictures.

Thanks guys. I know this trend is about a Mustang, but the power, the clean set-up, the dedication on both the owners and Joey is awesome. I guess you would have to be here to appreciate the total build. This is the cleanest build I have seen. The car is almost show quality, but will be a "daily driver" and than go to the track and run easy 9's.

Today (Saturday) was suppose to be the initial dyno day, but not sure its going to happen. Today temp: -11* with a wind chill of -30*. **** eat'n South Dakota weather

I know that he has run a couple of times and plans on going to a big race in Indy in May, but I not sure what class (more than likely some type of drag radial/street class).

Nope. Between his work schedule - works out of town a lot - and the crappy weather, the car still sets in the back garage. He continues to complete a few other details - full interior; new brake brake set-up, etc. I know that both Ryan (the owner) and Joey (builder/garage owner) would love to get it completed. Not sure of their dead line other than the 1st of April.

I'll keep you all posted on the dyno numbers.

David
