Default Here are weights of LS7 clutch, aluminum flywheel vs stock

I've seen alot of numbers thrown around and I wanted to know for sure what I was getting into. See below for actual weights measured on an accurate scale.

Stock '99 WS6 LS1 50K miles:
Flywheel:__________25.5 lbs.
Pressure plate:_____22.0 lbs.
Clutch:____________5.5 lbs.
Total:_____________53.0 lbs.

New LS7 setup:
Aluminum Fidanza flywheel #198171:_______13.5 lbs.
GM LS7 pressure plate from #24238412:____25.5 lbs.
GM LS7 clutch from #24238412:___________7.5 lbs.
Total:________________________________46.5 lbs

Weight loss: 6.5 lbs.
I know this is based on a fairly worn 50K mileage clutch disc, but it is a good indication. I won't speculate on how much a stock steel LS2 flywheel weighs, but I would think it's at least as much as an LS1. So instead of gaining rotating weight, I would rather lose a little for autocrossing.
This 6.5 lb. weight loss probably won't affect performance significantly, but I'll know soon enough.

....and to think that I was actually considering buying the Fidanza aluminum flywheel to go with my LS7 clutch. So the LS7 clutch and LS2 flywheel is a whole 5 pounds heavier than the stock LS1 setup. I don't think I will even notice it considering I am doing intake, cam swap, and long tubes at the same time as this clutch!! I just want to thank the guy that started this thread for saving me $400!!!
