Default ARP HEAD STUDs...

I am in the process of putting head studs in my LS1 and ARP is saying that all nuts are to be torqued to 70lbs. ft., the problem is that there is no way that the 5 top head stud nuts (10mm studs) are suppose to torqued to 70 lbs.ft.!!
the factory head bolts are 22 lbs.ft. Does anyone know what the torque spec is for the 5 top nuts?

yes, it's 22 for the little ones. remember to torque the big ones in sequence, 30,50 then 70ftlbs.

Who at ARP told you that ****?? It says right in their product catalogs tech data that for that size nut/stud you only torque to 22.
