Default Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 in snow...

Well I've just about had it here in MI, lots of bad **** is happening in my life. I want to get the hell out of here, and soon. My car is in storage, and the tires on it are Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3. I know when I bought them it said never to drive in the snow with these.

I plan on packing up some of my **** and drive down to Flordia, but there is a lot of snow here, and I don't know how far south the snow goes. The roads are kinda bad now, but I'm wondering if it's even possible to drive with these tires on. Anyone have an experience?

I'd go real carefully; went up to North Carolina for a
Thanksgiving couple of years back, could barely make
it up a hill on packed snow for spinning. Hell, anytime
it's under 40 the dry-pavement adhesion goes right
to hell (stops & turns OK but launch, forget it).

I think the tread pattern is just all wrong for snow;
looks like ice skates.

On the Interstate you should have clean lanes as
long as you don't try to drive through active weather.
If it's coming down, I'd just wait it out before starting.

Most definitely NOT a good idea at all. I had to leave my car at home for a couple of weeks at the beginning of this semester because of the ice and snow. Hell, I tried to leave my driveway and there was less than 0.10" of ice and snow on the driveway. When I let off the brake, my tires started to spin at IDLE. I can't even imagine what it would be like if you were driving on the interstate and hit a patch of black ice or even a bit of snow.

It's not worth it to try to drive in the snow. Things may be bad now, but they could and more than likely get a lot worse if you try to drive in the snow, especially on GS-D3s.

It's not worth it. I've driven mine a little in 1/2" snow and it's downright scary. There is no traction to be had. They are a high performance summer tire and are way out of their element.

Although I didn't have the GS-D3s, I had a summer performance tire on mine when it decided to snow a little here (BFG G-Force Sports). That was just retarded...I spun the tires backing out of my garage. I barely made it to work, and decided at that point to suck it up and buy snow tires. Best decision I ever made...even with a sticky clutch, I don't dread driving in the white stuff anymore.

I agree - don't do it, dude. I borrowed my buddy's T/A with summer tires for a few days (long story) and it snowed ... I just left it in my garage and bummed rides for a couple of days. It was ridiculous on cold pavement, let alone snow.

I don't have GS-D3's But I do have summer tires on my car and sad enough I have to drive it through the Michigan winter. Yes I let off the brake and at idle the tires start spinning. I have yet to get stuck or even have a close call with anything tho. As long as you take your time and be careful you will be alright.
