Default Valvebody check *****

I got my tranny in my car, but haven't added any fluid b/c I forgot to put one of the checkballs in. It's not one of the 7 that go in the valvebody, it's the one next to the accumulator. What is the purpose of this checkball and what will happen without it?

that ball slows the accumulator travel , while not being there wont actually hurt anything it will make for possibly more agressive P/T shifts that you may be looking for , However if you dont mind the harder slam your ok , I have actually driven stock 4l60es with that missing from them it makes a nice bump for a shift

Awesome, thank you Performabuilt!!!! You just saved me from pulling the pan, valvebody, and accumulator assembly for this one little ball. All I have left now is to add the fluid and put a battery in the car. I'm drinking a beer and taking a break for good luck.

your welcome remember though it may make the P/T shifts harder than you may have expected , it wont affect WOT shifts
