Default Looking for best ground clearance LT, Y-Pipe and Cats Combo

I have a 1999 Z28 M6. The car is basically stock and I'm going to be in the market this year for some Long tubes with Cats, gotta stay legal.

What LT, Y-Pipe and Cats Combo would provide me with the best ground clearance and tuck up nice, plus fit/install well?

If fit, finish and install is top notch, I don't mind paying a tad more over others.

From some of the searching I have done, SLP is the worst out the and are the hardest to install too.

I'm pretty happy with my headers, although probably the most expensive. Very easy to install, seem to tuck up well and have no ground clearance issues over stock. The Dynatech Supermax from one of the sponsers. http://www.thunderracing.com/catalog...&vid=3&pcid=52

Others may have just as good fitting and ground clearence, but I've only had experience of the ones I have so its the only one I can comment on really.

Pacesetters install very easy too, and the headers themselves offer great clearance. The TSP catted Y however is a pain to adjust! with the cross member in the way you have to adjust it so its not hitting it, this kills the ground clearance. I am also stock height. In general, i am sick of my y pipe. Its quiet, yes, but it is a nightmare to adjust. You can either have decent clearance and a banging Y, or crappy clearance and tailpipes that rest on the bumper. BTW i also put in poly motor mounts and a bump stop and they didnt do a thing for the banging. I think the best clearance would be from a custom Y...or perhaps a pacesetter Y with cats added after the fact. The pacesetter y flattens out under the crossmember, offering a tad more clearance. I will say that the quality of the TSP Y is a lot better than the pacesetter y, or so they say.

Stainless Works has some pretty good headers and y-pipe. The tuck really nicely. I like mine.

My Kooks LT and Catted Y tuck up a little better than stock. Superb ground clearance. I fit the entire pop can under the Y-pipe and it almost fit under the cats. Worth every penny, especially since the are both stainless steel.

I have pacesetters and I honestly don't see how they can tuck up any further without modifying the floor pan. I also run the TSP ORY but it doesn't have the best clearance but offers really good flow. Some of the better clearance Y-pipes have "dents" in the Y to tuck up further but decrease exhaust flow. Only pic I got of mine: Keep in mind car is lowered 1.5":

I wish i had gone a much different route with my Exhaust. I have way too much $ in it and it leaks bad, bangs, and doesnt clear well.
$375 LM
$700 TSP catted y and Pacesetters
$100 Borla XR-1
$40 BumpStop
$50 + 1,000,000 hours Poly Mounts

For $1200 you could have a very sweet setup. I bet TheBlurLS1 didnt have that in his original TD extended system.

I've isntalled a set of Kooks and their catted-y. Went on no problems at all, and the ground clearance looked just like those pics above. Kooks headers/y's are like a sore-dick.............. they just can't be beat....

I only had like $800 in that setup, sold it for $550.

I know man. I am still kicking myself for not buying them! I couldnt believe my eyes when i saw them in the for sale. So did you ever have a problem with the driver side banging? I've got poly mounts too, and my engine still moves. Maybe itl settle down with the poly trans mount and torque arm mount.
