input shaft broke
to make a long story short, i was about to streetrace of the line did a burn out, tires didnt spin all you smelled was the clutch but since it was a 2nd burnout I though, what the hell they should be sticky lol. anways raised the rpms waiting for the guy who was flaging and the hands went down punched and the only thing I heard was a loud sound like something broke. Ofcourse it was the clutch b/c the car was still on but wouldnt go no where. Next day started with the removal of the tranny and ofcourse 1st you need to take off the driveshaft. well the **** didnt want to come off. Ok.. Didnt understand why, anyways finaly got fed up pulled it hard of and damn the shaft in the back of the tranny all of a sudden was loose.(inupt shaft) wtf.. you could actually move it around. Anyways yeah my mcleod twin disk was in pieces.
ok this tranny was recently build by a friend of a friend ( i know doesnt sound good right of the bat) well anyways he has rebuild a couple of guys t56 but i bought all new syncroz and goodies and even a new input shaft.. this **** seriously doesnt even have 1K miles on it. anybody ever heard about this happening? the tranny felt good compared to before but **** come on it close me like $500 for the shaft and piece of grad took a **** on the second launch.. just doesnt seem right.. let me know what you guys think. thnx

They will bend /warp if the rear end lets go(output shafts). The impact to the whole drivetrain is tremendous.
Fcars actually have a small cross-section spline( I can never remeber if its 27 or 28T). There are other model shafts that significantly beef-up the output. An SSR shaft will most difficult to break( 32 T) and the Fcar trans can be modified to accept it( requires a larger bushing and a yoke change).
