Default How strong is my Stock aluminum DS?

I have heard about a few people breaking their stock DS, so it made me think about my DS. My car makes 430-440 at the wheels right now and I am about to put a 100 shot of nitrous on it. It is an auto car and I am pulling consistant 1.6 60's. Is the driveshaft something I need to worry about right now?

Thanks

Mine let loose a 1.8 60fts on a bolton m6 car. I say replace it and at minimum run a loop. No one wants to watch your car pole vault going down the track.

Very true, I've got a loop coming right now, but I still don't want to have to be hauled home from the track.

I broke my stock ds on the track with 350 rwhp. I am an m6 though. Autos seem easier on a ds than a stick car. I would upgrade to a better shaft if your budget permites. I know exotic performance plus has a nice pst ds for a good price and its 1200 hp rated and I know one of my friends who has 700 rwhp runs that ds so its proven in my eyes.

p.s. here is my stock ds after that break.

I would really like to have one of the PST DS's, but I can't spend 400 on that right now. I might pick up a spare at the local corvette/f-body graveyard. I will deffinatly get a PST as soon as I can save up some extra coin.

PST and Denny's are both good.....I dunno if they are sponsors...so maybe this wont get me in trouble with the moderators...but anyhow....I do believe both these makers have free replacement warranty's.....My M6 car broke my DS about 3 weeks ago...so i would recommend gettin that weakleak replaced...well ive also trashed a rearend...so i dunno...maybe just the torque the M6's have....oh well...good luck with it.

I have a drive shaft on my car from Three River's Racing. Is it good? Don't know much about them and it was on the car when I got it. Would it be any better than stock or just about the same?

I shattered a stock LS1 driveshaft with a 6k clutch drop on et streets one time. It was awesome!

But if you have an A4 and aren't leaving on a transbrake, I think you would be fine.

Since I carry PST, you can mention them all day long... The PST driveshaft has a lifetime warranty, and the U Joints have a 10 year warranty! Bob
