For some reason my TCS off light comes on after a couple minutes of driving, and the switch wont do anything until I restart the car... any ideas?

Lol. you shut your mouth. I would rather have a light flash every once and a while then be slower.

My light turned on for no reason a couple weeks ago. When I restarted the car, all was well. It's been fine every since. Go figure.

i turn mine off everytime i start the car. maybe it's like your parking brake.... if you don't use it enough, the cable gets rusted and breaks lol

I found out what it was... at first just the TCS off light was coming on after a while of driving, and then it started turning on as soon as I started the car, then the engine started idling higher so I figured it was a ground some where. Sure enough it was the ground up by the battery it was barely loose but loose enough to screw it up.

I have had this just start as well,,,right after doing my LS6 intake manifold install....it never used to come on, now it does right after going dwon the road. I have not checked the ground action that solved yours, any other ideas on what i could have done to make the TCS light come on all the time now? ( sorry for the hi-jack)

A bad ground on the battery, back of the heads or on the front/sides of the engine compartment can cause this.

It can also be caused by cam/tuning/intake airflow increases.

With a bigger cam than stock the PCM sees more air at idle than it should for a given throttle percentage and thinks the TPS sensor is whacked so it disables the traction control (and the switch won't enable/disable), and it falls to speed density when this happens.

If this is the problem you will often throw a P0121 TPS code. Replacing the TPS will not fix the problem, as the TPS is fine.

Raising your idle speed with tuning software (or EFIlive can adjust the actual expected idle airflow vs TPS) will normally mask the airflow reading problem enough to not throw the code and experience the TPS problem.

Cheers,
Rob (Bad30th)

Sometimes, I would get that too when the PCM "lost communication" with the BCM. It would happen every once in a while after a reflash.

After looking, haha,,at the back of the heads area,,i found nothing! I did my intake swap a couple of months ago, and remember reading something somewhere about removing something off the back of the heads. So, i went through the resourses i used to install my manifold, but found nothing about removing anything from back there, other than the oil sensor, vacumn line, air pump stuff (i dont have), pcv stuff (i did the LS6 oil valley cover install at the same time). I have had my nose into so many install documents latey, i could be pulling information from there into my current issue,,i honestly dont know. Most resourse info used was from ls1howto.com,,,if anyone has any ideas on where to look back there behind the heads, or has any other ideas on my TCS off light, let me know. If its not on when i start the car,,as soon as i hit the gas, it comes on. I checked all battery connections, they look great,,,,my negative goes under the fender well on the passenger side, looks aftermarket (its a pretty big cable), and although i cant see where it goes, i never had the issue before,,,,let me know and thanx for the help
