Default Detailed my engine compartment a bit, comments please

I spent the last couple days detailing my engine compartment and wanted some opinions on how it came out so far. It's not done yet, as I am getting a FAST intake and LTs with EGR/Air delete, so it'll look quite a bit different. What I did: Clearcoated the strut towers, did the wire mod, relocated a few grounds, added a custom emblem to the pass side strut tower, polished the A/C evap canister, clearcoated a few caps, clearcoated the power steering pump, ground all the casting marks off the MAF and then clearcoated it and just generally cleaned the whole thing. It was terrible before that - I was embarrassed to open the hood. Here it is (don't mind the weird white marks in all the pics - it was snowing):

Take a tooth brush to the motor and spend about 4 hours in all the little cracks and you'll be good to go .

I'll be doing the engine in it's entirety when I do my heads/cam combo.

Looks good but it seems like you still have a lot of work ahead of you.

Try buying some hole plugs/covers from your wire mod from here to cover up all those holes

What size plugs did you get for those holes?

I thought I would add - this is a daily driver in non winter months. I'm not looking to make it show quality, just presentable. There's no way I could keep up with detailing it with as much as I drive it. I might fill a few holes though. It needs it.

Getting rid of the AIR system always looks good. Nice work.

Cut the plastic strap off the battery. It doesn't have to be there and it's just adding to the clutter.

I gotta get rid of that battery, period. It's one of those stupid dual terminal batteries that you always seem to arc a wrench across when working on the engine. I'm still waiting for my battery hold down bolt to arrive in the mail so I can get rid of the ghetto tie strap holding it in place. This engine compartment had nearly 140K of solid use without so much as a washing before I started on it. It was terrible. For example, this pic was before my wire mod... yuck:

Ha ha, I was wondering when someone would notice where that badge came from. It looks good, I think. I might do a GM Performance Division badge below it to cover up a couple holes. The avatar... my gf (right) and plaything (left) was taken a couple months ago.

Screw the engine bay. Post up more pics of your avatar chicks. In case you were wondering, there is plenty of room in my PM box.

P.S. - Might help a little to wet sand those strut towers as the orange peel is pretty noticeable. I know that it only matters for show, but just in case you wanted to fix it up a bit.
