Default 3:23 to 3:73 results

Iv read alot of post of guys wanting to know what the difference is from a 3:23 to a 3:73 gear in an A4 and last nite I ran with just a 3:73 upgrade from the last time I ran and I was real happy with the results.previous best was a 13.2@105.8 last night I went 13.0@109.1 I would of been in the 12s but couldnt get my 60ft lower than 2.15 on street tires. Was real happy with the way the car was pulling through 2nd and 3rd.I hear alot of guys worring about top end with the 3:73s but as u can see I gained over 3mph,Im sure the 50degrees outside helped a little too.I think I could get a 12.7@110 on drag radials.Mods are paceLTs,ORY,Corsa cat,LS6,portTB,FIPK,3:73,girde.

Asuming stock gearing and stock tire size he'll do 175. Not to preach to much but probbly not best idea to test that theory on public roads.

Also instead of needing to test this stuff just use a gear calc like in the sticky

Nice results. Im sure the weather helped, and a lot of people will point that out, but with those 60ft times it shows what the car had left in it. Typically you can figure on every tenth in the 60ft to be worth anywhere from 1-1.5 tenths at the end. What were the 60's on the old runs?

You fellas with A4s...what are your rpm's around 70mph? I have 3.23s now and I think it's a hair above 2k. Been entertaining the idea of 3.73s but not if it is going to be outrageous. I will have a 3600 stall also.

gears are in the 10bolt and the 60ft time on the old best run was a 2.09.

373's definately arn't outrageous for an A4, perfect for daily driving and good for the track great all around gear. Not sure what the RPM's are at 70.. Im sure someone will chime in though. Ill be going with a 3600 or a 4K stall also..

Hey, I'm lookin to gain some MPH in the quarter and top end pull for highway rolls. I already have a 3600 stall and 3.23 gears and my mods are in sig. Will 3.73's make any difference since I already have a stall???

I dont see how the 3:73s would hurt ur speed in the 1/4 but I dont think it would help as much as a nonstalled car.Maybe some1 else can chime in with a better answer.

How are the 3:73's in the 10 bolt with a stall? I'm a little hesitant to dump $500 into the 10 bolt only to have it break. The other side of me says it's an automatic so I could get away with it.
