Default H/C/I for shorties

ok guys I'm thinkin i'm stayin N/A with my next LS1 f-bod and i do NOT want to go through putting long tubes on again and it was a nitemare with them on(always scraping and the o2 sensor wire melted twice!) so I want a heads and cam package for Stock manaifolds and either ory or high flow cat y-pipe with cat back. whats the biggest cam that can go in there with stockers with TSP stg 1 LS6 heads? or should i just opp for the cheater Package?

car with have Magnamouth, bassani highflow cat y-pipe for shorty headers, lid, underdrives, other supporting mods execpt LTs! and hopefully FAST 90/90

thanx guys

Thats too bad you had so many headers issues, most of us dont have problems with them. The cheatr cam is a good one for stock manifolds.

i could go with a 224....hmmm what about the MTi stealth II with TSP ls6 heads and FAST intake? i think that would be a best with shorties...and some 4.10 gears

No, A reverse split likes a good exhaust, why dont you consider MAC midlength, they are pretty good.

I havent had any probs with my lts, I think you should sleep on this and get some lts and go all out with your h/c. You want worry about your previous probs when your throwing down some nice power...

GM Cup Cam... or whatever the huge duration one is. I think it's ground to run on stock manifolds.

you must live where the roads suck ***...i have had two LS1 fbodys with LT's and lowered and had NO probs...one Trans Am with pro-kit (which settled LOW!) with the headers only about 2 inches off the ground and i have no probs out of it....then my current car has the pro-kit as well although not as low as the trans am was i still have 0 probs from the LT's

on subject..id look into the cheatr package...people have seen good results from the package

The ASA cam is 226/236 on 110 lsa and has 11 degrees of overlap
The Grand-Am cup cam is 239/251 on 106 lsa and has 33 degrees of overlap
Neither one would work well with manifolds, regardless of what you may have heard.

The key to working with manifolds is to keep overlap at .050 at -5 to -10 degrees. The cheaTR cam is probably your best bet. Predator's 210/224 115+1 comes in at -13. A comp XE 216/224 113+2 lsa would also meet that critiera at a borderline -6 degrees overlap.
